Power Inverters are most commonly used to convert 12 volt current from a DC power source, such as the battery in your automobile or marine craft, to 110 volt current in order to operate devices such as laptops, DVD players, TV’s, VCR’s, cameras, and other equipment designed for standard 110 volt (household) current, however, there are also inverters which allow you to operate DC powered items from any AC power source.
